Hello Everyone!

Congrats to all of our Eastern skiers at US Champs! We EVEN won the Division Cup. (We also won the Division Cup for the second year in a row at Junior Olympics!)

Okemo's half pipe and slopestyle have been cancelled for this weekend.

The new website will be launched next week, please go to www.easternfreestyle.com to check it out. It is still a work in progress, but we are ready for input.

Event Organizers: Please e-mail Joan Dolan at Jdolan@gocva.com with your Eastern event requests prior to April 7th so she can start making up preliminary agreements. The attachments are for national and international level events. These requests go into the national office.

Spring Klassic: We are a go for this event on April 14, 15 and 16. The format will be A/B moguls on Sat and Sun, A duals on Monday with an invitation B dual event as well.

The pie eating contest will take place on Saturday after the A event: A reminder that your teams must include one girl. The cost of the event is $10 per team. Please e-mail me your team roster by April 7th so that I can place our pie order with the Boylan Family in advance.

On another note, the judges' clinic usually scheduled for the Spring Klassic has been cancelled. I do not know whether Leon Bodzioch or Ed Albert will run an introductory clinic for TD's - will you? Dick Stone is USUALLY on vacation during the Spring Klassic, but maybe he made plans to come and run a scoring clinic? Did you? I will follow up with their answers in the next week or so.

On Sunday evening of the Spring Klassic, I am going to hold an informal round table with anyone that would like to talk about Eastern Freestyle. I will be at Killington Mountain School on Sunday one hour after the completion of awards. Please feel free to let me know that you will be coming. This time will enable me to get items on our sub-committee agendas well in advance of the meeting. If you cannot make it to the Spring Klassic, then please forward your constructive suggestions to me via e-mail.

We definitely need to take a good hard look at Eastern Freestyle this spring. Though we are the best division in the country, I think it is time to take a look at what we do well and where we can improve.

The Eastern Freestyle Spring Meeting will be at the Killington Mountain School on May 5th from 8:30 to 5:30. We are going to run under a different format for the meeting this year whereby the different sub-committee chairs will meet with their people in the morning from 8:30 - 11:30 and we will all come together after lunch at 12:45. The following groups will meet in the am to discuss what went well and where they would like to improve:

bulletECS "A" Head Coaches - Glenn Eddy
bulletEQS "B" Head Coaches - Suzi Preston
bulletFreeride Coaches - Nate McKenzie
bulletEvent Organizers - Joan Dolan/Jenna Ginsberg
bulletTD's - Leon Bodzioch
bulletJudges - Scott Lounsbury
bulletScorers - Dick Stone
bulletChief of Competitions - Ed Albert
bulletAthletes - We need new reps: please send me an e-mail if you are interested.

Since attendance is probably impossible for all of the members from your mountain or sub-committee, please put out a call for suggestions from all of them prior to your arrival.Best,

Deb
